  • Yes, it is completely safe! We put a layer of protection between your wrist and the chain while mico-welding to be extra safe, but it is pain free! I have invested in the Gold Standard of machinery for clients - you are in good hands!

  • There are many different types of gold. Although everyone loves solid gold for its excellent quality, not everyone can afford jewelry made entirely from solid gold. Solid gold chains can absolutely be pre-ordered!

Jewelers came up with gold plated, gold filled and gold vermeil to reduce the gold content and make it more affordable without compromising on the look or quality that make gold so desirable.

Gold filled jewelry is created by bonding a thick layer of actual gold to another metal, usually brass or copper. The gold content is legally required in the US to be at least 5% of the total weight. If it is less than 5%, the terms “rolled gold plate” and “gold overlay” may legally be used in some contexts, but not gold-filled.

As the gold layer is thick, gold-filled jewelry won’t tarnish, fade or flake and could last as long as 30 years. People with sensitive skin should have no problems wearing this.

We use Gold-filled which is the step before solid gold.

  • Sterling Silver is available! Our silver items are made of .925 sterling silver. We like sterling silver because it’s hypoallergenic, timeless, and lightweight. It’s also durable which is perfect for pieces you’ll wear time and time again.

We are picky about the materials we work with for permanent jewelry.

14k gold-filled chain doesn't tarnish which makes it a great option for permanent jewelry.

The more you wear sterling silver, the better it looks. The natural friction and oil from your body will help keep your silver nice and shiny. If for any reason it starts looking dull, you can rub your custom Femme Gemz polishing cloth over it to shine it back up.

  • Daily maintenance, to keep your piece in the best shape, would simply include wiping the piece down with a soft cloth weekly. If you know that it has been exposed to a bit nire that day than normal (skincare/hair products, sweat, etc) I would suggest rinsing with warm water and drying thoroughly with soft cloth.

  • No worries, we've got you covered. If you aren't into something being permanent, we can put a clasp on it for you so it's a piece you can take on and off.

If for any reason you want to remove your jewelry, simply cut it off with scissors or wire cutters. We suggest cutting it where the connecting link is so you can save the chain & we can reconnect it in the future if you ever want to.
